As a drummer, I was looking for a set of custom IEMs that could deliver reliable isolation, a solid low end, and clarity across the mix without fatigue. The Maytak M6 checked every one of those boxes and ended up being exactly what I was hoping for when I chose them over all of the “big-name” brands.
First off, the fit is excellent. They lock in securely and stay comfortable even during long sessions. The seal is consistent, which is huge behind a kit—great isolation without feeling overly pressurized, and no shifting once they’re in.
From a sound standpoint, these are very well balanced for live use. The low end is tight and present, which makes it easy to lock in with the kick and bass without things getting muddy. The mids are clear and forward enough to hear vocals, guitars, and click track without having to crank the volume. Highs are detailed but smooth, so cymbals and overheads come through naturally without being harsh or fatiguing over time.
That balance makes a big difference in a live mix—you can hear everything you need without fighting your monitor levels.
Another thing that stood out was the overall build and craftsmanship. These feel like they were made with intention. Clean finish, solid construction, and they inspire confidence that they’ll hold up to regular use.
Customer service was also a strong point. Communication was prompt, professional, and personalized, which made the whole process feel smooth and gave me confidence that the final product would be done right. Additionally, from the time my impressions passed inspection to the time the IEMs shipped was remarkably quick and with frequent process updates at each stage of the build.
Overall, the M6 delivers where it counts: reliable fit, excellent isolation, balanced and usable sound, and quality construction. If you’re a drummer or live performer looking for a custom IEM that performs without the premium price tag of the big brands, these are absolutely worth every penny.

Got the M6 as a Christmas present this year from my wife and let me tell you that she won gifting this decade! these things fit perfect, and the sound quality is second to none. I’ve had pre-Sonus and Shures in the past, and in my opinion, these outperform those. The sound quality is crisp and clear, but full the quality even down to the case and the wiring is pristine 10 out of 10 would recommend!
